BI Data Bricks Developer (12 month FTC)

This role is a 12 month FTC.
Who you are:
• An experienced SQL developer and data engineer with key skills in Databricks, SQL, Synapse/Data Factory and Azure Analysis Services
• Knowledge of full project lifecycles and continuous delivery methodologies.
• Good exposure to all elements of data engineering inc data integrations.
• Strong communicator
• Experience in retail would be beneficial
What you’ll be doing:
As a member of the applications teams, you will be working with our data team on the continual improvement of our Microsoft BI Solution. Working with Databricks, SQL, Synapse/Data Factory and Azure Analysis Services
System Development
• Develop high-quality, reusable Data Factory/SQL procedures, ensuring reliability and scalability.
• Plan, design, and implement data pipelines, views and data management processes.
• Design and Implement data integrations to Azure environments.
• Ensure all developments follow best practices and company quality frameworks. Where no standard exists, help define and implement new ones.
• Create clear, well-documented development solutions, making it easy for the team to maintain and expand upon.
• Provide hands-on support for BI applications, working alongside IT colleagues to keep critical systems running smoothly
Data Management
• Ensuring data quality and implementing best practices for database management.
• Troubleshooting data-related issues and providing technical support.
• Create new reports and dashboards, as well as optimise existing reports
• End-to-end delivery of business changes requirement
• Create comprehensive documentation for system process and procedures.
Data Governance and Quality
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability across all data solutions.
• Establish and enforce data governance policies and best practices.
• Perform regular audits to identify weakness and implement continual improvement principles.
• Understanding data and query optimization, query profiling, and query performance monitoring tools and techniques.
What you’ll need:
- Proven experience with Databricks, SQL, Synapse/Data Factory and Azure Analysis Services
- Ability to author high quality documentation and designs
- Strong Problem Solving and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent listening, communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work to deadlines
