Primary objective of the job:

We are looking for someone to work closely with the Trading and Merchandising senior management team, supporting the Head of Finance.

What you’ll be doing:

• Business Partnering Trading Director, Head of Merch and Senior Merch team to deliver insightful commercial analysis to help drive sales, profitability and manage terminal stock.
• Responsible for Latest View (monthly forecast), Budgeting and Reforecast (bi-annually) for Sales, Stock and Margin.
• Work closely with the Merchandising senior management team on stock, sales and margin to run scenarios and identify risks and opportunities and incorporate into a monthly latest View.
• Providing financial support in managing terminal stock including working with 3^rd parties.
• Own and produce financial lens on Merchandising inputs for Sales, stock and calculations of Margin.
• Ad-hoc financial analysis and insight to support and influence business decisions.
• Oversee one direct report – Commercial Finance Manager who is responsible for Online, Wholesale and Marketing.

What you’ll need:

• Accounting qualification
• Commercial awareness and ability to see the “big picture”, and present a balanced viewpoint with a clear focus on profit and commercial understanding
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills across both finance and non-finance functions. Ability to communicate at all managerial levels and challenge where appropriate
• Comfortable with initiating change and ensuring continuous improvement within the team
• Retail background with experience working in a B&M finance function
• Self-starter who can work independently
• Experience using Reporting tools seen as desirable
