Who you are:

We are looking for a detailed, proactive and reliable Payroll Supervisor to join our Finance Team. You will need to be self-motivated with good organisational skills to cope with the demand that comes with this busy and varied role

Primary objective of the job:

The Payroll Supervisor will work with the Payroll Manager to ensure all White Stuff employees are paid accurately and on time, according to company policies, procedures, and external statutory legislation. You will be the primary contact for our UK Retail Payroll, Retail and People Team key stakeholders as well as external relevant bodies that have dealings with the Payroll department

What you’ll be doing:

· Processing information submitted by the People Team for Starters, Leavers and Financial Changes on excel templates before uploading into the payroll system

· Checking sickness submissions, manually calculating SSP if applicable and uploading all into Payroll system. Producing SSP1 forms if applicable

· Producing Maternity / Paternity / Adoption / ShPP payment planners manually and entering the data into the Payroll system

· Checking and uploading stores timesheet data from the Time & Attendance system into the payroll system

· Calculating Retail Holiday top up values on excel templates before uploading into the Payroll system

· Completing Loss of Earnings forms for jury service and DWP enquiry forms

· Processing Attachment of Earnings orders, Season ticket loan and Staff Float requests

· Processing P45s and HMRC New Starter Checklists as well as tax code changes received from HMRC on Government Gateway

· Supporting the Payroll manager on final payroll checks and ensuring that the monthly BACS file is produced in a timely manner

· Processing electronic Payslips and P45s

· Preparing the PAYE HMRC and third party payments each month

· Delivering Payroll training sessions for new Retail Managers if required

· Supporting the Payroll Manager with month end accounting journals and reports as well as Balance Sheet Reconciliations

· Supporting the Payroll Manager with Year End processes such as P60s, P11Ds and PSA

What you’ll need:

· Discretion to deal with sensitive and confidential information

· Intermediate Excel skills

· Good knowledge of PAYE & NICs

· A high level of numeracy

· Ability to prioritise, remain calm and manage expectations under pressure

· Ability to work to strict deadlines

· Strong analytical, problem solving and organisational skills

· Strong accuracy and attention to detail
